is a saltiga 6500 on a Pe 4 - 6 rod too big for Demersal jigging?

they are a heavy duty saltwater reel. I have one for sambo/kingie jigging. Awesome reels but probably a bit overkill for demersal jigging. Maybe a saltiga 4000 with pe3 would be a bit more suitable?

I use one for deep jigging sharks and heavy trolling. I dont mind dropping baits with it but does start to get heavy holding onto it all day
