Saturday's Swan Session
well with all the chopper reports about thought i'd better go for a look around myself last saturday.
hit the water at 8:30 near point walter and went to one of my usual spots chasing flatties first up.
didn't manage any which was disappointing but picked up a fair sized flounder which got released.
i thought i'd try some new areas for the choppers this trip being only early on in the season and it paid off nicely.
first chopper caught by my mate went 42cm, ended up being the biggest for the day, and the action was hot from then on.
wouldn't know how many tailor we caught, kept a few but released more.
with a solid cold front on the way in and some rain we desided to leave the fish bitting and had the boat back in by 12.
during the day i had a 28cm herring nail my sebile flatt shad and after some aerial action it was in the boat.
while unhooking it out came a whole pillie, i was surprised to say the least that a fish that size could eat a pillie that big whole.
back at home cleaning the fish and out came another one from the same herring.
picture below of the catch, the herring second from the end ate those 2 pillies in the photo.

Excellent report mate. Thanks
Excellent report mate. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, I seem to catch herring on hb minnows half the size of the herring. They are indeed aggresive little buggers.
