What’s everyone’s predictions for the season ahead? I might reshuffle the ladder prior to round one due to form and injuries to key players etc and the pre-season form of Kennedy and Fyfe’s recovery from injury.

My comments on your ladder
I think if Fyfe is going to win the Brownlow freo would need to finish higher than 14th
Adelaide already have injurys to Sloane and Crouch, not looking like a good start to them so 3rd might be a stretch
not sure on Melbourne in the 8 and your writing off the hawks already?
Richmond will be bottom 5 IMO

Cotchin won it from 12th* and
Cotchin won it from 12th* and Ablett won it in 2013 from 13th spot on the ladder but yeah history will show you need to win more games than you lose but Fyfe is that good (when fit) he will still poll in losses as the umps aren't too concerned with players that butcher the ball by foot. I'd really love to see Luke Parker win it as my favourite non Eagle and I reckon Luke Shuey is a smokey with Mitchell freeing him up a bit more.
The Hawks finished the season off badly last year after burgling at least 4 or 5 games during the season and then went out in straight sets and have lost their best two players and well as Hill who provides a lot of outside speed. The question is whether Titchell and O'Meara can plug that hole... I can't see it but the Hawks have proven me wrong for years now.
I feel so sorry for poor old Melbourne I just like to see them play finals.

They were in front of the dogs and blew some chances, could've been 30 pts up going in at half time.....
Lewis overated and seemed to only perform when he really needed to, Mitchell GUN, But....
Look at Tom Mitchells stats for his age, why oh why would Sydney have let him go? He's a better mid already than both Lewis or Mitchell ever were albeit the latter is one of the best movers of the ball i've seen...
Omeara? Who knows but you would have to say its one of the bigger trade gambles in recent history. Fully fit could be top 3 mid in a few years?!?!
Risk worth taking i say, and they are pretty darn good at getting players fit and performing...
Hill was pretty awsome for us but lets just say we swapped him for Roughy, Oh and then we get Vickery thrown in for free...

Wasn't like one side was full strength and the other full of second string players.Freo didn't have Sandilands. Points on offer? Freo were playing in the East Fremantle country zone, an important part of their of their country supporter base. Reckon they weren't trying? Anyway, yeah, practice match only, long way to go yet. First point - its game one of the pre-season for freo, game two for eagles. Lets wait for season proper.
Second point - i am interested to now the reasoning of others when they say richmond will finish higher than the dockers? Bearing in mind injuries freo carried for much of last season, and the introduction of some quality trades. Vs richmond who got rid of that thug of a ruckman.
Third point - the AFL will ensure GWS wins every thing this year. So it is all irrelevant.

Half of the West Coast side
Half of the West Coast side played their first game as well. My favourite stat is that Chris Masten layed one less tackle than the whole seagull troupe (Bradley and Steven Hill and Pearce) which is made worse when you consider West Coast had 415 disosals to Freo's 214.
With the inclusion of Prestia, Caddy and Nankervis, Richmond have a decent young midfield and are a better side than Freo.

Sandi and fyfe are gearing up for big years. Three recruits are looking good. Kerstan still has to learn his role a bit. Need to get alex pearce in, in place of dawson.

Went to the game last night , nice bag for McCarthy was happy with Brad Hill’s effort .. Hamling and Kerstan still got a bit of work to do ..nice goal outside 50 for Logue’s first game . Still a bit scrappy skill wise and thought against the likes of a hapless Blues they could’ve backed themselves in and went more direct at times . Alex Silvagni still going hard at it for the blues came off second best with a head clash and looks as though Ballas will be out with a hammy of sorts for a few weeks . Bring on the mighty cats for Rnd 1

$30 odd bucks is a bit rich for non members for a scratchy might've had some influence on numbers , think it was around 6500 . We took full advantage though and snuck around and sat in the 2nd tier near the boxes . Very, very, very happy with getting Mitchell for pick 88 and Vardy for pick 74.
Emac is back and Lecca is firing and we are moving the ball with deadly speed and accuracy through the middle and giving Kennedy a tonne of space.
The big question hanging over our heads is the ability of Lecca, Darling, Yeo, Kennedy in particular to perform on the big stage.
I'm going to whack a sneaky 10er on JJK kicking 100+ this season too.

Its funny every year you watch these games and always feel that certain teams are looking good or others are looking crap but then the season proper starts and turns things on its head...
Hawks definately looked B grade and not top 4 where i am hoping/expecting them BUT we will have to wait and see.....
Apart from an assistant coach coaching them you do see players playing roles/positions unusual to season proper but regardless of that their skills looks shithouse which is odd?
