Sending your Lures to your destination before you get there?
hey all going away next month up north
and was wondering have many people ever sent the gear to say the destination, charter bloke like a week or days before you actual fly there.
i remember when i went to Exmouth Last year leaving from South Aus via Qantas that i had heaps of gear to take ie lures hooks etc,
and i could only chose either to bring my standard luggage or to chose the rod tube and nominate that as my main luggage and just bring on carry on luggage.
if i chose to bring my main luggage and rod tube it would cost me a extra $30 each flight all upp $120 for a rod tube load of crap.
so i decided to fit as much stuff as i could in my very wide rod tube with 3 rods and nominate the tube as my main luggage.
but it was hard to fit it all as it is illegal to bring on your carry hand luggae hooks lures etc any sharp objects even braid on the reel was not aloud which is fair enough no dramas .
so i was thinking about just sending my lures hooks etc in my lure bag and sending them to exmouth broome etc say a week before direct to the charter bloke
which leaves me with alot more room to come over with. But is good idea or is it safe ?
whats peoples thoughts on this dilemma has any one done it before
Cheers

Would depend how much you are sending
Because postage can be just as expensive plus if the charter bloke wants to take responsibility.. I think paying the excess would be easier and the peace of mind of knowing where it is etc IMO
i need a cheaper hobby

You could always post it to
You could always post it to your name C/O whichever towns Post Office you are heading. Easier than having to tee it up with some one else. But yes it could be more costly than just paying for excess luggage.
