Share with you some pictures of my Pop in WW2
Sorry i know its not fishing but i spose its because all service men and woman that went to fight for our freedom gave us a country we can freely go fishing and do all things that make Australia great.... Lest we forget
I was lucky enough to recieve off my grandmother all my pops photo's from ww2. He fired the big guns in the artillery. He used to tell me storys of how his ears used to bleed after shooting off a few of these.
Thought i would share them with you. Feel free to post up and that you have.
My pop and grandmother were together since such a young age till my pop died a while ago. R.I.P
Such a great guy and i will never forget him

great pics mate,unfortunately
great pics mate,
unfortunately my grandfather passed away about 2 years ago, but he had very little in the way of army/war pics - something he never spoke about after he returned - I reckon the poor buggers went through some pretty traumatic stuff back then, and tried to block that stuff out. I learnt more after he passed from a colleague in his batallion.
Always an emotional time around ANZAC day...

Thanks Dan R.I.P to your pop aswell mate. They risked and gave there lives so we can have such a free and great country. I had always said to my pop that i would want to serve my country and fight for my country like him. He said he never wanted me to go to war.

Good work getting those up
Good work getting those up Marc. Stirs emotions when you see stuff like that. Lets hope that generations never forget. If we have another world war it'll probably be the end of us all.
Love the West!

Cheers for sharing the great
Cheers for sharing the great photos, these men stood like pillars in times of great uncertainty, we are all very greatfull to them for the sacrifices they made. When ever i have my young family together and we are having a great time, especially out on the water, i like to let them know how we are the lucky country and its because of men like your Pop that we live the life we do.

Good photos there. My
Good photos there. My grandfather passed away last year. I wish I had the chance to hear more of his stories. I recall some of the photos he showed me many years ago. One that sticks in my head shows a pile of Jap heads. The locals on the Pacific islands were head hunters, and they would go out collecting heads after the battles.
Also remember the yanks couldnt handle their piss. The Yank beer was like mid strength shit, and if the Aussies shared some of their real beer with the yanks, they would get plasterred on it.
