shark bay
Its been a couple weeks since i got back but the fishing stays fresh in the memory! The first week up there coincided with the shark bay fishing fiesta, and with the opening day starting mothers day, i payed more than the entry fee to fish that day thats for sure! we fished out in turtle bay maxing out on our limit of red throat, spangled emperor, baldies, and black snapper. lucky for us one black snapper won us a prize weighing a nice 4.4kgs happy start to the trip! the rest of the trip was much the same, catching our limit of red throats, spanglies, baldies, cod, blacks and bein busted off by a number of rather large spaniards! one trip was decided to head out off the cliffs of steep point, not the most pleasant of days in a boat personally, but i cant complain catching some nice cod, a red emperor(the only one for the trip) and quite a few pinkies and the awesome red/pink/purple sunset was a great way to finish the day... surprisingly there weren't alot of pinkies in turtle bay but a first for myself was catching a number of sand snapper. all in all was a great trip, caught a few squid of the jetty of a night time too for a nice fresh feed.

its a fair trip
we have done the trip a few times and its a 36nm trip to get to turtle bay from denham boat ramp, you need good economy or big tanks on the boat, but there is plenty of good shallow ground to explore and deeper stuff if you want to venture but make sure you get the exemption if the pinkys are around as then you can get 4 but then cant fish inside of the zone after you have been outside

denham
Yeah luvd it, cant wait for next year. we stayed at shark bay cottages and launched from the boat ramp nearby, it was a 2hour drive to steep and turtle bay from there(more drinking time) and most days on the way back it was like a mill pond so a pertty cruisy ride. if u were staying at steep point u can camp and launch from the bay provided the boat isnt too big, i no of a guy who sets up camp in the bay, has a massive cat he drives from denham n moores in the bay n uses a tender to get in and out. but there are still plenty of spots to fish closer to denham that arent a 2hour drive

Memory's you never forget!
Have done quite a few trips out from Tamala Station and one from cottages at Shark Bay. Some of the best trips for fishing and relaxtion by the camp fire or table spinning a good yarn. Great catches you have there hope they still continue over the years to come!
