steep point report from last month
http://fishwrecked.com/forum/steep-point-2013
steep point is about 30 nm from Denham, but worth the trip if it is a nice day. we camped at shelter bay, but you need book and be completely self sufficient. much planning needed.
Fish! HARD!

shark bay
Troll for macks and wahoo off the lighthouse, further down the west side of harthog go bottom bashing for reds (keep redthroats for bait and dont be afraid to put big bait on .If the weather is good and you can go to the Dampier reef it fishes well during the day but goes off at night.
I should be going with my mates tomorrow but with one less on the boat they might leave some fish for you.

Trophy
We usually rely on you to keep all the trophy fish away from those of us that catch fish.

Was there 2 weeks ago. Good size pink snapper coming on the bite late arvo and into the evening around the bent pin area. Quite a bit of ground out that way just sound around and anchor and burley

If the weather is right i
If the weather is right i would head straight to steep point, but be aware it gets really shallow (under 70cm!) in place on the way over so use markers. When there head north up dirk hartog and if the conditions are right and you trust your boat you can back up to the cliffs and clean up on big Baldies. Plenty of pinkies around too. You can also head south from steep point down the Zuytdorp cliffs, some of the most amazing country you will see, and the fishing is good too.
if it gets a bit blowy head north from denham up to peron and you can get some nice redthroat or black snappa.
