Shimano Beast Master

Hi All

Just chasing anyones experience wih shimano beast master rods.

I am looking for a couple of 15-24kg rods to run 30 size shimano reels on with some 50lb mono purely for trolling when we go up north.

There is a good deal on the beast master 24kg roller tip rods at the moment and i can get 2 for $130.

Would these be a good option? I dont need anything to expensive for trolling rods as they dont get used heaps.

Cheers Jayce

the original beast master rods were very well mate I'm talking the ones made 20 years ago they were bullet proof ,if you just after a couple of average trolling rods get a couple of backbone elites they will do the job generally quite a few for sale on gumtree or on fw

No rollers

I'm not a fan of roller tips at all, that would put me right off.

Cheers

I'd go a good quality Sic tip runner any day. I've seen too many roller tips fail at critical times.

great rod

I use one out of wyndham for my bottom bouncing found it to be a fairly sturdy rod, have turned the heads of some big jewies with it...never used it for trolling I would find it a bit big but it depends on what you are chasing I suppose

Other than that can't recommend them enough

Yeah, we have had nothing but

Yeah, we have had nothing but trouble with rollertips, and god help you if you use braid with them.

Lama has concerted a few of his to conventional tips, no more issues.
