Underground Hide

After enjoying a tiger fishing trip at Sidinda Lodge, you might want to stay a night or two at Bomani to encounter elephant before you head home.
I thought some of you might find this interesting. Here are a few pictures from the underground hide build,as well as a few of Elephant from the hide.
In the south eastern corner of Hwange National Park, at Stoffie's Pan, the hide is carefully camouflaged as a termite heap and buried under an ancient Mitswiri tree. Inside it has comfortable seating and even a flush toilet.
The photographic opportunities from it are phenomenal. Elephants can be photographed from toe level silhouetted against the sky at a distance of 8m. Such close proximity to Hwange's huge bulls is honestly breath-taking!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Yes quadfisher, all shovels
Yes quadfisher, all shovels and sweat!
A trench approximately 2km long was dug by hand from the borehole to the pan and a pipe line laid, the container hole was also dug by hand.
There are two outlet points for the water which
can be controlled with a gate valve so that when elephant drink straight from the outlet trough for the fresher water, you can move them from one outlet to the other depending on the sun angle so you get better photography.
We are currently offering "stay 3 nights pay for 2" specials for those of you who are interested!

Hi GrantOut of interest, what
Hi Grant
Out of interest, what flight path do people take to get there?
Just did a quick search to see if it would be viable to do a trip, and Victoria and Bulawayo airports seem to be a nightmare to get to from the UK, and Harare is a solid drive.
Might be better for when I return to Aus!

dkonig82,
I have flown from both UK and Perth in the past, I normally fly with SAA.
Flight paths:
From UK - Johannesburg South Africa (JNB) - Victoria Falls Zimbabwe (VFA).
From Perth - Johannesburg South Africa (JNB) - Victoria Falls Zimbabwe (VFA).
You are met at Victoria Falls Airport for your safari.
I hope that helps, let me know if you need more.

Dan , Ive just realised that
Dan , Ive just realised that for some reason on the SAA website Victoria Falls does not come up in the dropdown menu all the time. This has happened to me in the past, I phoned them up and they said it must be a glitch on their website. I can assure you that SAA do fly there and I have done that trip many times. If you give them a call they will confirm this.
Cheers mate
