Shimano deep jig rods?

Hey guys, I am thinking about purchasing a Shimano tcurve deep jig 400 for my saragosa 25k. They seam like a really high quality rod, although any information about them snapping or been a nice rod would be apprechiated.

Cheers Max

What are you looking to do

What are you looking to do with it?

I think the DJ200 is a great rod for the price. I caught some really serious fish on mine (including tiger sharks, sambos, demersals etc) before moving on to other tackle.

The 400 I have fished once and did not really like. A bit too much of a broom stick for me. But then again depends what you are using it for. The 25000 is a monster reel, so you probably want a monster rod to go with it.

Could look at something like a Jigging Master Ocean Devil 52SMH also. Has as much if not more power, but doesn't feel as stiff to use.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

 Don't high stick it, I've

Don't high stick it, I've seen two of them explode under load. There are other options around that price range. Head to your local store with your reel, bolt the big girl up and load her up and see what you think.

Tcurve 200

Had the tcurve 200 for years and not had a problem. The 400 is a broomstick.

If your highsticking any rod they can break so I wouldn't be put off by that. More an angler issue than a rod issue if that's whats causing it.

 Agreed tim, any rod can

Agreed tim, any rod can break when high sticking, ask my uncle when he snapped my okuma cedros rod by doing it. I'm thinking of going with the deep jig (as I'm shimano guy) although thanks for the option. If you haven't sold it within 6 months or so let me know as I would as I would be willing to buy it.

Cheers, Max
