Shovel nose shark Jurien Bay

hey
went down to jurien bay last weekend for a fish with few lads from work, camped for 2 days.
fished through the night, catchin' tailor, a lil gummy, a lil bronzy, and a lot of runs...........
we ended up casting some tailor out for bait, and got a lot of runs.
After 3 runs we ended up landing this shovel nose after a 35minute fight.
15 minutes later we had another run which when for 25 minutes and got reefed hard.
The shovelnose was about 2m long and estimated 70kg
And was also released :)

Big shovel nose
That are some of the biggest shovel nose sharks/rays I have seen on here in a while! Well done!

A good size Shovel there sounds like a fairly good couple of nights/days

Wow mate thats a good sized shovel nose for sure. Biggest I've got is a bit over a metre and took me around 20min.
Big ones like that must pull pretty hard hey?
Sex is great, but fishing lasts all day.

Bloody solid shovelnose. They go really hard at that side. Got one that big in fairly deep water off a boat during a comp one year and wasted ages trying to haul that fridge door of a thing up through the water!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
