Showing Scott the best of Exmouth
Adz and I took Scott aka Worldfisher out today to show him the best of what Exmouth had to offer and it was sh*t!!! It was about the worst weather I've fished in up here and our plans for marlin, deep fish and trout were all blown away by the north-westerly. We launched even though all the whale shark boats cancelled their trips as a storm front rolled across the reef
We figured we could push out and troll for marlin still but 10 minutes later we called that idea off and tried to salvage the day on some in close reef we've got. Scott and I were fishing soft plastics and Adam used bait but the fast drift made things pretty difficult. Scott and I got reefed once each by suspected trout and I puled the hooks on another. Adz then hooked up and got bricked big time after we thought he had all the hard work done, very decent trout that one. Finally Scott hooks up and landed his first spanglie on light gear and a placcy, congrats mate.
I then hooked up on the funkiest plastic in my tacklebox and landed a nice trout.
We persevered for another drift until Adam's sunnies slipped off his head and into the drink. Despite his heroics diving in after them they have now left this world, farewell fellas.
With showers and another storm front looming we pulled the pin while we still could and came home. Sorry Scott that we couldn't make it happen but you did score the shittest day of the year! Once again photos do the crap conditions no justice. If anyone get the chance to take Scott out it's well worth it. He's a top fella with some good fishing stories too.

Crappy weather
If I didn't know better I would have said the pic was from down south not up at Exxie. Looks real shitty. Glad it was you out there and not me.
Ads will have to pull one out of the hat and win the monthly pic comp for replacement sunnies

You sure your not fishing in Perth....well the fish are a give away.
Have caught a few dollies on the ole lizard placcy when not much else worked - don't knock them!
Hopefully Scott scores some good weather soon - he is doing it tough.
Cracking Spango pic! Hmmm, maybe Ads can win a new pair of sunnies.
Cheers Pete

Hi Everyone! Thanks Adam and
Hi Everyone! Thanks Adam and Tim. It really was a great trip even though the weather was a little shady for us! At least we managed to get a ben in the rods and I got my emperor! I had a go from the shore but unfortunately al,k the action was happening a little way out where the bait fish were hanging around.
I'm now in Broome after a stop karajini and then a couple of stops in bertween. Last night was 80 mile beach where i flicked lures for a few hours around sunset but without luck. want to go have a try on the fitzroy for a barra. shame i missed karratha and a possible trip with Bruce! next time mate!!!
After taking a lift up to here i'm back on the bike now up the gibb river road and then hopefully bungle bungles and then darwin..will put up a report then if i get any fish on the way..until then a couoke of snaps of the last week,
all the best, Scott
