Considering he is currently
Considering he is currently under investigation by multiple authorities, keeping some random person of zero relevance informed of what is happening is most likely not at the top of their priority list. Also, incase you missed it, even though its been mentioned in almost every news article relating to the drum lines, fisheries are not allowed to comment on anything to do with the drum lines including Mr Peterffy.
Unlucky for your mate Alan, you would think fisheries would exercise a bit of discretion in that situation especially after all the inaccuries that have been reported for the free measurement stickers they distribute

He did get raided a couple
He did get raided a couple of days ago. Lost his boat (again), laptops, cameras and a few other bits. I believe that was in response to that stunt you mentioned.

More exposure
I reckon he is just waiting to get a huge fine and make the news. Gives him publicity and makes him more of a hero figure to those bloody extreme environmentalist groups. Then his supporters will be in street corners with a fundraising cans to get people to donate to his cause.

he has been raided
Off their facebook page 3rd of April: "Yesterday morning 23 Fisheries, Police and other supporting Officers raided The Lorax, (HQ for the MRU), a house in Bunbury, and Boats on the river in what was 'Operation Overkill'. It was clearly meant as to frustrate us, taking all computers, mobile phones, memory cards, cameras, recording equipment, mermaids tails and other items.
Our Boat has been confiscated and we are told it will be kept as it was alledgedly used to 'interfere with a Drumline.'
We need a boat, Dinghy, kayaks (they have been confiscating them too, please pm or visit us with details of any offers to help.
We want to be out there on the water asap neutralising drumlines and saving the lives of Sharks. Please share this to get us support.
Fisheries may feel they have intimidated or slowed us down....quite the opposite really. We will be back on the water real soon, and as determined as ever!"
So indeed, he'll just get some other suckers to replace the stuff and get publicity. That's what it's all about after all.

Good gracious
I still dont get the issue.
Why dont they go after all us mortal fisherman. A shark is a fish, only difference between a dhu and shark is cartilage.
Havent heard (I hope it doesnt happen) about us "Killing" innocent dhufish, and I think they are prettier (closer to a seakitten) than a shark.
Drum lines in Qland, NSW, Natal South Africa for years. Now we have a whole lot of celebs popping up to protest. Go there and winge to!!

Because this not a simple
Because this not a simple "issue infringement.... pay fine" case it will have been taken upstairs for heads of department, legal team, and the minister to decide a course of action.
We have a senate election on Saturday and I'm sure there will be some movement on the case after that. I'm sure they didn't want to give Mr P anything more to bleat about until after the polls.
