I've seen a few people posting on here about them - so think a few have them installed.
They certainly look like a cool toy!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Yep I've got the NSS 12 with 1kw transducer and structure scan. Very happy with it, will hopefully post some screen shots after this weekend. I'm going to do a full post on my boat early Feb so keep an eye out as there will be a section about the NSS
Let me know if you want any info

simrad sounders
I have a pair of SIMRAD NSE 12 UNITS LINKED TO BOTH STRUCTURE SCAN and a 200 khz transom mounted airmar chirp transducer ( i dont have kids ). Both units perform at an excellent level. They are built solidly, have excellent vision in daylight, robust connectors and are easy to operate. Many consider Simrad to be more reliable than the Mexico assembled Lowrance. Simrad claim they offer superior back up service but so far i have not had a need to try this out. THEY ARE NOT CHEAP but you can purchase in the U.S. AS I DID FOR HALF THE COST. Unlike Lowrance they are not geofenced so you can use the gps any where in the world. I have owned and used a Furuno FCV295 WHICH IS A SUPURB UNIT but Furuno has not released thier chirp sounder yet, so i upgraded to the Simrad and i have not been dissapointed, best of luck with your choices Paul.
