Slow pitch jigging rod which one

Which slow pitch jigging rod to get ???

Looking at something like the Palms Metal Witch 686SF.

In Exmouth fishing 60 to 120mtrs and jigs from 80grm to 250grm. Have been using a PE2 catalina matched to a shimano ocea calcutta 300hg and PE3 but am a bit under gunned on the bigger reds and rankin.

Rod will be matched to either a Talica 10 2 speed, a Fin-Nor Marquesa 16 or a older Shimano trinadad 16N and PE4.

I already have spin sticks but prefer the overheads for slow jigging.

Any ideas would be great.

Cheers

Did you actually manage a red on the jig?

very hard to get them to take jigs at the best of times. Rankins love the jigs but reds seem to mainly only hit baits (that I have witnessed anyway).

I have a similar pe4 combo and have a daiwa saltist hyper pe2-4. Nice rod, but it's just so hard to get anything which is not a broomstick, that has enough pulling power to get the Reds and rankins past the Sharks! My "don't argue" jig rod is a jig man Pe 4-8

Both reds and rankin love the jigs as well as goldband, NW snapper, big cod and hooking plenty of sharks. Only issue is getting reef fish up past the sharks.

Have a few broom sticks already but hard to get the jigs working with a stiff rod. My PE2 catalina is a nice outfit just does not have the lifting power fishing deeper water. Using a Shimano Type J matched to a catalina 4000, still a stiff rod but works. Prefer to use overheads in that depth.

I’m going to be looking at somethen similar for when I head north each year have been looking at the ocean legacy slow element rods  also considering the temple reef gravitates models. Also maybe have a look at the jignes range off slow pitch rods
