Small Poppers!

Thu, 2007-09-27 15:40

There are these little poppers that I purchased at Big W just for some Herrings and small Tailor. I can't remember what their called but I think it might be Outback Lures or something. Good poppers them ones. Makes good splashes and caught me countless of Herring's, Tailor and the odd juvinile Samsonfish that you encounter in the river.

Hope that helps.

My reels screaming zzzzzzz.... awwww damn it, its another boat!

All the best for the future fishing trips.

HAHAHA, yeah. I bought them just for pure fun on the Herring's and that. It said on the back that it was for Saratoga, Sooty Grunter, Mangrove Jacks so what the hell I bought it since I was in the area. I was actually meant to go and buy other stuff.

I have some little rapala

Thu, 2007-09-27 16:10

I have some little rapala skitter pops that the tidal creek baby GT's and queenies just love.
Might be a bit big for herring but any legal size chopper would have them.
The best herring popper I ever had was actually a fly. I just used on a my 1/2kg rod and could cast it 25 meters. That was enough for herring in a burley slick.

It was something like this but in a blue/ white baitfish sorta look. About 1.5 cm of hardbody and 2cm of feathers. Shit hot it was.

Yozuri 3d pops...probably best small popper ive ever owned. Catches the pants of halcos/r2s etc.

Hard to find/get hold of though. $17.95 a pop they arent THAT expensive, but well worth it. Campbells has a few ... ;)
