Snake Repellers?

Does any one know if those snake repellers work, the ones that put out the sonic thump?  Or anyone know of any other ideas, considering the shovel is only once you see them and generally you dont until its too late.

Old man is seeing a fair few come out down south and I'm wondering if it might be a worthy investment?

A friend of mine set them up

Mon, 2016-10-24 12:58

A friend of mine set them up around the house of their property in Serpentine. However, they did find a snake curled up next to one of the repallers. From memory it was solar powered and may have been drawing the heat from the panel?

Bird Netting

Mon, 2016-10-24 15:53

My cousin swears by using that really fine cheap nylon bird netting.

The snakes cand move thru it when it's laying on the ground and they just get all tangled up and stuck.

They live right on the lake in Lake Clifton and they get a lot of snakes.

I have sat on the front veranda

Mon, 2016-10-24 17:22

Of a house on a couple of acres and have seen snakes come onto property from roadside into front yard (common occurrence apparently) sliding up to the front of the house before hi taling it and heading back out at a great rate of knots. All corners of house and midsides protected by the repellers on mains power. Was sceptical myself before i saw it , but i guess there maybe other reasons why they bolted. The owners have told me they have seen many snakes do exactly that.

Edit: Also know a farmer who swears that Phenyl poured around the fence line of his fenced yard keeps them out and has done for years - good for several weeks apparently unless it rains - he then re loads the fenceine. He sees them every other day in summer near house and shed, has not had one in yard. He also pours it around front entrance house walls.

And Phenyl is also good to

And Phenyl is also good to get rid off or deter bees that try to make a home in the brickwork of your house.

Phenyl

It also keeps the mice etc away and that means that there is no food for the snakes. I have a friend who lives down lake Clifton way and used to have a lot of tiger snakes and king browns come around his house, since he started putting a trail of phenyl around the house foundations he hasn't seen a snake.

Apparently it really plays hell with their sense of smell and they will move away quick smart.

I had been spraying phenyl for a few years, then almost picked up a rag with a gwardar in my shed.
Sprayed around it to see what happened-fuck all.

Snakes down south-my partner in the fishing boat was in Exmouth taking over the boat for a trip when his wife rang from Albany

"theres a tiger snake living in the woodpile at the back door"!!!

"boil some eggs and put them out for it" he says, "it'll choke on them"

Two weeks later Im back in Exmouth to take over and ask how she got on.

"after a week I found out she was peeling the eggs, fkn snake thought it was christmas, now theres 2 of the bastards!"

Thumpers would work also. Hence horses racing around tends to keep them away . I have close friend in snake infested area( wetlands serpentine). They have horses around main house . Seen 1 last 2 years. That's pretty good imo
