SOM Vs JM 16000 spool

Hi all,
After some opinions of the above as to which is better. construction and drag wise.
I realise the JM has 35kg or drag.....something I only use when targeting the BIG KG whiting ......but seriously is it a better drag system? and if I'm after sails....hence the bigger spool size, then does it affect it running it at a much lower drag than that.
any info or anyone who has used one of these with anything to tell ...much apreciated.
voids the shimano warranty????....if they find out ? ...lol
Also if anyone has one of these to sell PM me.
Cheers

I have both - I think they
I have both - I think they are both good.
Both are similarly smooth in terms of drag, but I think the SOM has more resolution when setting the drag whereas the JM is light and then really ratchets up quickly once you get past about 10kg of drag. This could be related to the amount of grease I have in the two stacks.
I haven't owned the JM long enough to know how they compare from a corrosion standpoint or what the longevity of the drag stack is like.
Both are fine options. The JM is cheaper, the SOM (in my opinion) looks better. I don't think you'll regret buying either.
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
