The Best Footage is like the X Files, "It's Still Out There Somewhere"

Awesome Trip Paul, opened my eyes to a new way of spending valuable time with " Like Minded People"

Coral Trout for breakfast,

Baldie for lunch,

Chops, Cray, Squid & Dhuie for dinner was just too hard to take.

Outdoinit & Mrs Outdoinit, Rusty and the Team a Big Thanks

School of dhuies

Mon, 2013-04-01 21:23

We had a great trip and I also have some footage of a small school of dhuies and and other fish happily swimming around together...missed out on seeing the larger schools that Paul has talked about.

I thought dhuies were fairly solitary but the footage says otherwise. I can report that bronze whalers like to school up....5 of them swimming around you is a bit unnerving.

Full report and video clip should be up tomorow.

regards
rusty...

Mating season

Tue, 2013-04-02 20:22

Hey Wal do you know when mating season is for dhuies ???

And question for Paul any idea if these schooling dhuies are residents to that particular lump/ ledge etc or possibly schooling up from other areas for a particular reason ?? Seems like alot of fish for one spot !!

Same here Spinksy

In my scuba days came across a huge school of dhue's, snapper and buff's. Just swimming around a bommy. Caught our crays watching the school, and as soon as we made the surface out came the rods. Not a bite.

A quick freedive to check and they were all gone, apart from the buffs. I think they do move about when in a school.

Most dives I have only seen maybe 5odd mooching around bommies.
