yup....one of those locations
yup....one of those locations you see on the TV ( and dream of )....small gap in an outer reef feeding a gully into the shallows....you just know there was going to be fish in there....it is just visible in the photo......I'll definitley be using stainless hooks next time as this bent most of the gangies straight...which can also be seen just under my right hand.

hooks
what sort of gangs were they al_t??
I have seen mustards and all the others that look like mustards bend like that.
They look black like the gamakatsu gangsters, these hooks tend to come apart so you lose a couple a session although I have never seen them straighten or come apart with a fish.

Congrats on the PB. Solid fish.
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.

@ Rig
They were mustads mate...the black ones that come in a pack with the eye pre opened for ganging...didnt come apart but bent straight enough to be a concern...it put up a good fight though with a couple of flared gill aerials that a Barra would have been envious of...!!!

Change
I am sure you weren't fishing with your drag on full lock so I wouldn't be using those hooks again.
