Sounder fitting - who does it?
I bought myself a Furuno 620 the other day (yes Jamie - 620 not 585 )
I've stripped the old sounder out of the boat, and had intended to fit the new one, but have been stuck working a lot the last few weekends and have not gotten around to it.
As a result, I have no sounder.
Have decided would rather spend any spare time fishing rather than fitting it, so if anyone is knowledgable and would like to fit it for a fee (or can recommend a marine sparky that wont charge the world - if such a guy exists) then would be keen to hear about it.
Thanks
Dan
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Have a crack.
I have only just bought a 620 couple of weeks ago and seriously I only took me four hours to strip out the old sounder and fully install the 620 and Im only a boilermaker!
The hardest part I found was setting up the transducer , the wiring and the fitting of the unit is pretty straight forward just make sure you use the fuses that come with the unit because they were slightly different from the ones in the old unit.
I would come a give you a hand but I fly out tommorow to go up to work for a week so you probably cant wait that long.
Feel free to pm me if you want more info.

Cheers for replies guys.
Looking like Jamie and I will try and have a crack at it this weekend
If we dont have any luck with it then any of the above options sound good!
Cheers

Piece of cake.
I've done a few and can offer this advice. use tinned wiring preferably, solder and heat shrink is very advantageous, dont earth on aly boats, wiring loom make it all look pretty. If ya stuck you know who to call......any of the above and me
