South west trout

Headed down south for the weekend to chase trout. Caught a few and seen a lot of good fish. Got a nice wild rainbow from the rapids which was good fun. Throw in a heap of reddies and once again more close encounters with multiple snakes and it was an eventful weekend. Oh and two people I was fishing with ended up with hooks in them, it was just one of those trips!

Yeah I love escaping down
Yeah I love escaping down there for a few days. We pushed the hook back through and cut the barb off to get it out. Glad it wasn't me!

i felt the pain just through looking at the picture of it,great looking area to do some fishing and a great reward that raibow,thats a hell of a big black worm you are chasing for bait !

Yeah was a very well conditioned rainbow the first one. I think they are tiger snakes, they stay blacker because they don't get much sun in the valley. Almost stood on one later in the day, stopped dead in my tracks and it was half a meter in front of me in the grass! Stuck its head up and I bolted!!

Decent bit of snake there, that trout free swimming just makes me want to take up fly fishing.

I was heading straight for that snake until I seen it move, skipped that 20 m stretch!! Took 4 lure changes to tempt that trout in the water pic, Ended up succumbing to a fly!
