So much fun in shallow water and light gear...This one nailed a 5inch Castaic Jerky J Swim soft plastic in a few metres of water.

They go hard
I don't reckon there are many demersals that go as hard as a spangled, they'd pull a pinky backwards, plus they fight dirty, will always head for cover whereas pinkys only rub you off by accident. When they are hungry they'll rise a long way to a bait, having them nail a lightly weighted bait or SP at anchor in 20 fathoms one drop after the next is some of the best demersal fun you can have, IMO. Of course, then there is the Longnose--a 7kg LNE is just faaaaarrrkkk
