hmm never fished anywhere

hmm never fished anywhere around there, but i know with mandurah, depending on the tide, spots like that can have a raging current. Also will only be worth it if you can reach the drop off whith a cast, unless you're after flathead or something like that in the shallows

Stormy vest country, and need a brick for tethering a bait.

For flatty and bream, no so for Mulloway. You'll find it'll be difficult to setup somewhere dry and have the rod out. The other issue is current, will be very difficult to hold the bait out there.
You want to fish close by, best to go upstream of the Red Herring restaurant. Just on the south side of the river. Still got current there but not as bad.
At the same time you'll get whiting and bream there.

The sand bank between the

The sand bank between the bridges is pretty good for a flathead or two, but as soon as you get into the channel that current is too strong.

although we have gotten tailor under the bridge on the pylons with a weighted mulie just sitting in the current.
