Bimini in your braid, double
Bimini in your braid, double uni knot to 1m of 40lb fluorocarbon is a popular way, many variations however.

knots/leader
to be honest i would be tying a bimini to gt knot for reliabitlity and cating through the guides i have also found that a good rod length as a minimum is the way to go.

And tie off to your jig hook
And tie off to your jig hook with a Rapala knot or similar so it can swing around n stuff. Like you would with a hard bodies lure. Adds to the action.

No real need for plastics.
No real need for plastics. (though they can twist on a fast retreive if you didnt rig them right).
Though, I have very rarely used swivels with plastics. e.g. I'll run 2m of leader the same/similar as the mainline, then run a tiny tiny swivel, then a m or so of heavier bite/abrasion leader depending on the fish.
