Squid

Been out a trip a two !!ll waiting for the squid to fire up? Well today they did water was quite clear so I went for some thin Fluro carbon and fished some darker jigs !! Seemed to do the trick !! Got out at 10 and ended up heading back to Mindarie marina on 12.30am !! Bit tricky with the wind changing direction every half hour !! But manage to stay on the black grass long enough before a move !! Anyway guys get out there while there firing I'll be stashing mine for the storms to hit for the pinks and a drop out wide !! Cheers wreckers !! Pirate !!

a mate of mine got his 15 in an hour and a half 1km out from Dunsborough.

No monsters but tubes up to 25cm.

Good signs for the winter season.

ps. there have been a few Mulloway and Pinkys caugt LB and from the jetty but few and far between.

Like you say we need a storm.

Went out off Busso yesterday and got a nice feed, tried in close for nothing so moved out to about 7-8m depth(level with end of jetty) and they were there.

always been a fan of 7-8m anywhere in the bay for squid.

Find some bottom thats seagrass and sand mixed with rock in that depth and whammo

Been a few small Cuttlys around this year too.

i saw 2 squid tonight and that was it for them...couldnt get them to take the jigs either unfortunately. i was only half way out near the sand bar, missus couldnt be bothered going much further and i was feeling the same after the mothers day lunch feast.

caught a few yellowtail and 2 trumpeter. but as soon as it hit 7pm they all decided they werent hungry. could still see them swimming around but not interested at all. there was a small shark of some kind (dog shark possibly, maybe just over 1-1.2m in lenght) cruising around for a fair while. that wasnt interested in anything i dropped infront of it. caught 2 small shovelnose and fed a very friendly dolphin half a block of mulies at the bottom of a ladder and saw the biggest stingray i have seen in my time so far. so all in all it was quiet a good night apart from the lack of note worthy fish
