Steep Point 09

Gday All,

Just got back from Steep, had a ball...

Even though the fish weren't firing like they usually do we still got plenty of macks, baldies/parrot fish, coral trout, spangos and some nice jumbos

macks ranging from 8-13kg..

biggest cray went 140mm carapace

Cheers

Sam

Great fish mate - love the Alutecnos reel...

Weather looks better up there than here - might have to go for a drive. Getting cobwebs on the boat.

John, sorry about not getting those leadheads off you mate...by the time i was getting everything ready on the 27th i had realised that you had gone to Malaysia, sorry again mate i hope you had a ball over there...

Rayman, Steep Point is situated ~800km from perth...you need a good 4x4 to get there as the track is pretty boggy in some parts.

Mainly balloon and spinning for spaniards up there off the cliffs, get some wire and a assortment of diving and bibless minnows.

Baits off the cliffs in  the arvo/night will get spangled emperor and pink snapper but i was mainly in it for the spaniards

Cheers,
Sam

Nice fish and great cray's too.  I think you can forget about that spot Roger without a 4wd, need to be really really prepared to go in there as its rather remote.

Great fishing there mate. My future brother in law just got back a couple of weeks back and got heaps of macks and some big tuna. Were there many people up there?
