Never been there but have seen the Ifish bloke getting some off the beach around from the point in the shallows on poppers. They were huge and he was sight casting too. Looked awesome but don't know how frequently that happens. Hopefully some of the people here who have been there themselves can help you out :)

Just inside the point there

Just inside the point there is a bay with shallow water and low rock ledge that is relativley flat (the bay is between Shelter bay and Steep point)

I have seen jumbo size tailor cruising along here on my last trip. Tailor would have been 70cm +.

mate try false entrance beach   Cast poppers and stick baits from the reef/sand , a pair of rockhopper boots are worth their weight.

I found it better with a bit of swell. We caught some rippers to 90cm a couple of years back

are you planning on eating them? We got some in the 80-90 cm range and 60 -70 cm range they had no taste at all, even tried smoking them tasted like crap, was a waste killing them maybe other guys have had better experiences eating them though
