Stella 8000 or 10000???

im thinking of selling my saragosa 18000 and getting a stella 8000 or a 10000, mostly be used in perth jigging but also want to use it for popping up north ect, would it be worth selling my saragosa for a smaller sized stella (i know its a better reel in general),
also weight is an issue

thanks

Low gear is definetely the choice for jigging. 8000 spool takes 300m of PE4 and if you are using YGK Ultra Jig man that's 62lb. I reckon that is more than enough in 100m++ water.

Hope that helps

As above 8000pg is for jigging and 10000 is high geared for popping. If your going to be jigging more than popping the 8000pg is your best option. I had the same dilemma going to exmouth at Xmas and wanted a reel for both. This is just what I have read on previous posts, u can always wind faster to work a popper but jogging with a high gear reel is quite hard work

but , is it easier to wind a low geared reel fast for popping , or a fast geared reel slower for jigging.

1 of these choices is more work , 1 is less.

I got both the 10,000 and 8000pg

10,000 is great for popping, you can jig with it but is hard work. Vice versa 8000pg.

8000pg probably the better option fir Perth as mostly sambo jigging.
