Strange catch at Woodman point Jetty

Just got back from a trip to woodman point jetty, came back with an extra rod and reel. My friend hooked a rod out, was a blue jarvis walker rod and an abu garcia reel.Laughing

not a bad catch, i would be giving the reel a very good bath in fresh water and then a real good grease up. makes you think how many other rods and reels are sitting at the bottom of the river. i used to find the odd one down at canning bridge sitting in the channel

There aren't many at Woodman's point.  There are lot's of divers there and they don't seem to come across many.  Maybe it's because it's shallow and folks are willing to jump in to get them back.

That's better than catching a few herring

A good clean out and plenty of crc and the reel may come good if it hasn't been in the water for too long.

Funniest thing i have ever seen was while fishing at freo traffic bridge. I got pissed off and smashed my fishing rod into the concrete for a laugh because it was a old crappy one but i didnt mean for my reel to snapp off and end up in the drink lol!

4 weeks later while fishing my mate acually hooked it and brought it up!!! With the amount of current that runs through there i didnt expect it to be still there lol!!!
Even got a pic of it i will post ;)
