Stupid Bolt Cutters

Thought i had a good fish this morning. Rod bucked in the holder, line peeled off the reel & i hooked into a heavy fish. Felt like a Dhuie for a moment, but then there was something not quite right with the way it was fighting. Still it was a big fish. I didnt even think of N/W blowie till it hit the surface. Grunting like a pig & grinding its teeth. The bloody thing was nearly 80 cm long. Jees I hate them. Havent caught one for a long time but had a hook bitten off not long after this one so probably that was another. Did I mention that I hate them?
Any one else caught one lately?

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

I bring out the really light
I bring out the really light gear if there's a school around and in can't be arsed moving, good chance to practice your angling prowess
And then of course the inevitable gaff shots
