Summer fishing so far..
Hi Guys,
Thought I would put up some pics from the summer so far. All of our fishing has been done out from Mindarie. We seem to be getting a lot of bald chin so far this year, we have had a couple of snapper and lots of sambos but mostly just little guys. We did get out to direction bank once over our break and we managed a boat record with a sambo that I guessed the weight in the high 30’s or maybe even 40kgs.(the photo doesn’t do it justice, I need a gopro camera) I did try and lift it but there was no way that fish was coming out of the water without putting a gaff in it and I didn’t want to hurt the fish, it took us about 25mins to land and we had it follow it around in the boat, great fun. We have been catching a few small dhu fish but have only had two size ones so far. we have done a little trolling because the water has been pretty warm but no luck with the macks yet.

Great pics, great fish! Uncle Sam is a horse!
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Well done
Very similar to my efforts off Mindarie this Summer, lots of small Dhus ( good sign) and 2 good ones, couple of good snapper and plenty of mid range sambos, however haven't caught a bald chin for ages. Wonder if it's the terrain / depth or the rigs/ bait/ jigs used or luck of the draw? Sounds like bald chins are regular on your boat, maybe the bag might change this weekend
