the sun set on another good day

The plan was to get out Saturday but plans often don't work out so Sunday was the go. Weather was looking good to do some exploring while out there. We found a few good spots holding fish but not all on the bite. Ended up in an area that usually produces good size grassies and it didn't let us down. The usual tag team was in effect again with Sandy hooking them and me winding them up . Doesn't bother me as I still get to eat them .

Got met at the ramp by the fisheries for only the second time since we have had the. Oat up here.

We eat a bit. Been too windy

We eat a bit. Been too windy up here to get out for a couple of months . Great to get out and re stock . Plus we give a decent amount away as well to those that can't get out for a fish.

Pity about it all. Being 1 type of fish tho.

Same here!

Yep, and definitley saves us some coin on food which is bloody handy with the price/quality of meat up here! My main expense on fishing now seems to just be bags of ice.

Thats definitley one of the best things about fish imo, even if it is just one type, you can do lots of different things with it.

Just a suggestion

But maybe you could use plastic cool drink bottles of frozen water. Works well for us.

Yep we have done the same

Yep we have done the same but also frozen water in icecream containers to make big blocks for a base. If you use the bottles and some blocks and then maybe a bag to put over the fish you'll be laughing.

I have a huge freezer to make

Tue, 2023-09-12 12:40

I have a huge freezer to make my own ice but I also have a contact that also passes on broken bags of ice that they can't sell in exchange for a couple of fillets. Meat quality certainly not the best but at least in hedland we have coles and woolworths

Great photo of the sunset. I reckon Hedland has some of the best sunrises I've ever seen when you go over the salt bridge and the wallwork road bridge.
