Submitted by dan south on Sun, 2007-03-11 21:39
How many people seen that dhufish in the sunday times today,I have never seen a dhuey that big befour think it went out to 25.6kg or something.
Question:If yourself caught a dhuefish of that size, had scales on the boat to get the weight would you keep it or release it if it was releasable yes/no.

Jumbo Release Weight!!!!
I am not against keeping a fish for a feed but a 25kg fish would be a bit too sinewy for me, so a quick weight and lots of quick pics and back down she goes with a kick arse jumbo release weight. More pics of the fish as it is released and a movie of the final release weight attachment and deployment. I would be a very happy man then.
Sounds like I would need a cast of thousands aboard to get it all done in less than 5 minutes. What a great movie that would make though!!!
Cheers

To be honest I would
To be honest I would probably keep it as we have a big family and none would get wasted. Not sure about the eating quality of a fish of that size though would imagine it would still be ok to eat.In my opinion there must be a lot of old timer Dhus out there its probably just rare that they are caught.Dont get me wrong I release a lot of good quality fish its just that Dhu is highly prized on our table and the missus would kill me if she found out, lol.

Yeah i think my wife would do the same actually! Shes always busting me for putting fish back. " you spend to much money on gear to put them back. Ill start going to kalis brothers and it will be heaps cheaper than the rods you get, we'll eat fish every night for 2 years" They just dont get it.LOL.
