Survived George Now for Jacob, from Stoinka and Festa.

Latest Update at Sea at 0655, from the Good ship Gea Sea.

Well the last 50hrs we have been dodging George experiencing winds from 50 to 70 knots running around the Indian Ocean trying to avoid getting slammed. The weather forcasters at Bom got it really wrong.
We are onboard the vessel Geo Sea a dive support vessel working at the N-West Shelf.
The body is tired from bouncing around and getting no sleep, poor old festa looks 20 years older boys.
We are east of barrow island at the moment doing a ship to ship cargo transfer. Then it is run away,
run away down through Mary Anne Passage then popout at the Murions then head west.
Another couple of rough days will send a few people over the edge. We have 72 people onboard and 12 divers in controlled sat living in a gas chamber, poor bastards.
I reckon Cyclone Jacob if it has a clean run with all the hot water near the coast may reach the start
of a cat 5 storm. Anyway time will tell.

Hey Nealez well done on the comp mate.

Hey Adam, Festa says Hello mate.

Have passed your email on to the fellas at the Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre. Will be interesting to get Geo Sea's 3hrly positions,
ship weather obs. Would also be interesting to see how many of the 50 or so warning bulletins you received.

Unlikely. At this stage it's only expected to just reach cat 4 by landfall. There are many other factors which affect a TC's intensity other than warm water masses.

jay are you an expert on cyclone formations or something now. it appears you are an expert at everything else so if you dont mind give us all the factors that effect a cyclones intensity without going on bom but no doubt you will. you really write some crap.

Thats what i reckon mate its a fun social site if you cant be a dick here where can you be.Most stuff on this site is helpful in one way or the other if you can help someone out give them some advice sometimes its not the right advice but from the combined feed back you can work that out for yourself if your like me and dont have huge amounts of fishing facts then dribbling shit and having fun is the next best thing. As for me Spess and Sherbert you can thank this site for us before this site we did not know each other and since a few trips with each other we have made a good freindship .I know this is the case with a lot of other members of this site.CHEERS SHAG

P.s I am hurt by your comments lukas it will take a long time to get over it lol

Jay

Looks like your on the money Jay, its now weakened to a category 2 and might strengthen again before landfall. But doesn't look like its going to give us too much curry. Well, not in Exmouth. ;)

Seas were pretty horrendous yesterday when I went to the boat ramps. We got a bit of rain this morning, but nothing serious yet. The wind has just started picking up, before I have to go to work, what a shame, might have to be another day off if no one is crazy enough to get out there.

You need quells for hallucinations festa??? I thought the flashbacks would be good enough. ;)

Hope you guys get some good rain Adam. Last year we got a direct hit from a cat 2 (clare) and we got 215mm from it so hopefully Jacob does the same.

btw rob, you're a laugh mate.

I heard pilots have girls same as race car drivers.
Something to do with all the g forces.
Personally I have a theory that if you wear jocks you have a boy and boxers is a girl.
No definitive proof yet just a couple of coincidences I think.

festa and stoinka

GEEZ whats all the sperm talk ?

Anyway streets ... they spend 28 days under pressure in aus under our regs , and 28 off .However the longest sat that ive been part of was a single 90 day dive (90 days in a tin can) think about it .

Anyway theres is no effect that iam aware of on sat rats (divers) having either girls or boys ... and as for long term effects well its a closely monitored environment and issues that were once prevalent are no longer as common .Issues are the exception rather than the norm .

The above does not include pysch issues as we all know sat rats are mad .. then again so are LSTs
