support - non fishing 2nd attemp

 Hello fello fishos,

Admin feel free to delete if required .

learnings from last attemp; dont post from phone as it is a challenge . 2nd learning; dont be a twat and try it again from the phone and fail, wasting more time!

I was writing to remind all out there that this friday is purple bra day which is fundraising for the Breast cancer care WA. Our family found out the hard way with my wife being diagnosed 11 months ago at the age of 33 years young. Since we were drawn into this space i was amazed to see/hear of the amount of young women and families going through this as I grew up thinking it was an older person illness.

Fortunatly my wife is now doing well and probably strong enough to outfish me again! We were very fortunate to have the support from Breast Cancer Care WA throughout the wash of surgery and treatment with small things that make a big differance.

So this is where i ask if anyone out there is in a position to support then please do and those who cant or dont want to, thanks for taking the time to read my dribble.

All this month we are donating $5 from every job in our business and if you want , you can go to our website www.amanathand.com.au and there is a link for purple bra donations or just go direct to Breast Cancer Care WA.

Thanks in advance peeps!

Regards

Leon

Count me in mate and great

Count me in mate and great news with the Mrs.

Mum got her diagnosis on my daughter's 1st birthday, went through radio and chemo and had her double mastectomy on her 2nd birthday and got the all clear earlier this year.

It's a shit time and the outside services are vital to add to the help provided by family and friends.

A " heads up" for men

If you think that breast cancer is a women's thingy, think again guys.
Approx 22 years ago I found that I had a lump on the side of my left boob, you couldn't see it but I felt it there whilst having a shower.
True to form I thought "it's just a bump that you get as you get older and didn't give it a second thought.
Big mistake, I told the wife about it some time later and she asked how long I had noticed it etc. (usual women's third degree questioning) and way after a lot of nagging I made an appointment to see my doctor and went and saw him.
With some embarrassment I told him of my lump and how I was only seeing him because of the wife's insistent. After a bit of a squeeze and looking at the shape of my boobs (a bit concerning I must say) he made an appointment for me to go and have a mammogram. Don't laugh.

Long story later and a lot of stress and an opp lump was removed and found to be cancerous, shit..

To answer a couple of questions, no I didn't don't have large boobs and they where to small to have a mammogram, ultrasound used.

doc said that I was lucky it was detected in time and boob didn't need to be removed nor muscle tissue under the arm.

Quite a few men develop breast cancer don't be fooled or arrogant in thinking it can't happen to you.
Check your boobs out (or get a close partner to do it which is more fun)

It could save your life.
