Surf and Rock fishing rod !!

Hey guys, looking around for a rod for use of the beach and occasionally the rocks. I want something that i can use for baiting mulloway in the surf and snapper off the rocks, but can also be used for throwing poppers and sliders up north when i get the chance. It will be paired with a Stradic Fj6000 of FJ8000, with either 30lb or 40lb power pro braid. Any info and opinions are much appreciated ! cheers

Rod

You might find a rod to cover both these situations well difficult to find.  The ones leemo has mentioned I would consider great rock rods but probably a bit short for surf fishing ( leemo has long arms). Maybe give us a big more info like locations you plan on fishing

Cheers guys thought I might be pushing my luck :P trying to save a bit of money haha. Will be using going to port denison in two weeks, fishing off the rockwalls and a couple of the beaches around the area.

I saw the Starlo Classix shore spin at BCF the other day they look alright for the money they ask. Cheers

Hi mate

Depending what your budget was we have a few options, Though for what we would consider the best match for that reel and the type of fishing your using it for the Hearty Rise Pirate 10ft 6 is a standout. There is two options, The PE 2-4 (personally believe its closer to a 8-12kg rod) or the PE 4-6 (12-16kg range). The heavier version I believe is better suited to your application. They are Ultra Light and can be cast with all day. These rods we can do for $350 FW price.

We do have cheaper options aswell if this was a little more than what you were wanting to spend.

Cheers

Too easy mate,

For that price range I would suggest the Shakespeare Beach Elite in either 10 or 12ft. We can do those for $150. We have 12 footers instock at the moment and will have the 10 footer back instock soon.

Cheers

I just bought one of these

I just bought one of these bad boys, perfectly matched to a 3500, 4000, or 4500 reel.

http://www.rayannes.com.au/daiwa-shimano-reels-australia/rods-reels/daiwa/daiwa-rods/daiwa-lure-casting-rod-sj-shore-jigging-106mh-now-only-269/

could easily cover both styles of fishing. Ill be using it to spin for tuna and mackies off the rocks, and then as a surf rod.
