Suzuki motors

I repowered my 6m Caribbean last year with a new Suzuki DF 150, replacing the old Mercury 135 two stroke. New motor is awesome, heaps of power out of the hole and right through the rev range. WOT gets 5850 rpm at 39.5 kts. No more oil, very quiet, no smoke and uses just over half the fuel of the old motor. Would recommend them for sure. Good motors. Make sure you select the right prop.

Suzuki

Suzuki 4s are good motors, shop owner Ryan Thipthorp has owned (all modern models) 60hp, 140hp and a 175hp. He rates them highly and definately reliable & economical.

Upgrade

Upgraded my Suzuki 140hp last year with a 175.
Absolutely no problem with either of them and would not hesitate to recommend them.

DF250

Great motors. I picked it for the following reasons:

-More torque out of the hole, you can run a larger prop (more acceleration, better holding pace in swells)

-Chain driven timing - no maintenance

-Offset drive shaft, more weight over the hull (less sinking in the rear).

-Narrower V (better turning circle).

-Class leading fuel economy (had a 175 Johno before, and its just over half the fuel usage. At about 1.5-1.6km/L )

Only issues i've had, is a short on the tilt swtich, which takes out the main engine fuse (bad design). Suzuki claim its the first in OZ on the DF250, and 2nd or 3rd (DF150 models have had same issue), but it was covered by warranty no questions asked.

Millards bunno

I recently flicked my Etec 90 for a Suki 90 and has done little hours but unreal so far! Fuel usage is epic compared to the Etec. I hunted around a bit for pricing and strangly found Millard Marine down in Bunno were the cheapest by far, didn't charge me to remove old motor like other shops wanted to do and also chucked in the digital gauge (which is unreal) for nothing. Worth a ring if your buying 2 of them!
