Is it worth goin the swan river route ? I have a 5yo would love to watch the skyshow from the boat but am wondering if its too much hassle and probably too late to get a spot now :) I know there are closed areas but are there any other areas allowing easy access and retreat ? without going into the closed area ? anyone been there done that ?

You can launch south of the narrows bridge down
around point walter or any of the ramps either side of the river down that way. Make your way up to the old brewery and anchor up.
Just remember that once it's over it is dark so you need to know your way around and have nav lights.

mmm
shame but unless I anchr and sleep on the boat it does not sound liek a good idea :( I did contemplate launching in hillarys and crusiing down but it would take an hour to get up river too long wayyyy and a 19footer is to small to sleep on :(

launch from.. I forget what the place is called, but its near burswood off graham farmer fwy between the racecourse and great eastern hwy exit. If u drive there, u'll see it. Ski boats always launch there and its not too far away from where u wanna be.

9am and the Swan was already buzzing. Great to see most people doing the right thing.
