Go to the boat ramp near the left bank in freo ( behind the barracks ), fish on the left finger jetty cast just behind the red marker in the water and hang on. Havn't fished that spot in quite sometime but when I did a while back it held some monster tailor.

24 cm blowie, shoulda taken a pic on the brag mat for the record holders board....hmmm, that gives me a incentive for when I next head out onto the swan, its hard getting past them so why not try for a whoppa for the record haha

Blowie

Sat, 2013-06-22 21:02

Hey mate a few weeks ago after the last big rains I fished around bassendean on the yaks with a mate.

there were no bream in site but I had what I thought was similar to a blowie follow my grub sp right back to our yaks,it was pretty rooted and didn't even have enough go to bite onto the sp,I think it was because the water was so brackish, but I kept it swimming near us for a minute so my mate could try and snap a pic of him for me on his phone.

i sort of forgot about it again until today when i was having a chat to one of the guys in tackle world in Morely (staff are always very helpfull in my experience by the way)about the river and when I described the fish to him he thought it sounded like a nor west  but obviously you would not expect to find in the river,he showed me a picture of one on the computer and it looked pretty close to what we encountered.

so out of interested I have texted my mate in the hope that he still has the picture on his phone,he's working away at the moment so I'm waiting on a reply,

And out of shear coincedence i was just reading your post now and you have encountered a24cm blowie.

so i have to wonder has anyone else encountered these?
