Looking for some advice I currently use Mercury premium plus synthetic blend on my 91 marriner outboard, I wanted to try this xd100 everyone keeps telling me about. Am I ok just to wait to my tank gets low and top it up with the xd100? Is it ok to use on my outboard? Cheers.

Xd100 is mainly for E-TECS,
Xd100 is mainly for E-TECS, in saying it’s a full synthetic.dont see a problem except the price.any modern full synthetic from the major oil mobs are just as good.Having an older motor you may still need a mineral based synthetic.

I wouldn’t run xd100.
I would try yamalube if you are unhappy with your current 2 stroke oil performance.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Ok, people have been telling
Ok, people have been telling me it produces less smoke and less carbon build up, but if you think I’m no better off then I’ll just stick to what I’m using now I guess.

I run it in my 2002 Johnson
I run it in my 2002 Johnson 115 but only because I got sick of buying two types of oil for the e tec and the Johnno. It still smokes on cold starts and as for the carbon build up, it may be lower but I certianly don't notice anything. Motor seems to start about the same so, cannot recommend as being "better".
