Burns Beach is the best place

Burns Beach is the best place for Tailor over 450mm. Just bait cast and make sure you get over the breakers.

I`ve been fishing there recently and have caught 4 thumpers (Tailor) over 500mm and a 800mm Mullaway over two nights on the long weekend.

Fish on sunset and you will be alright.

Anyone going this Saturday? Will catch you all there!!

Mate if you are using bait

A mulie on a gang or 2/0-4/0's, depending on the size off mulie. Some use wire, I dont, but the leader should have some bite resistance. I use 40-60lb about a rod lenght worth (but I tend to prefer 6-7ft flickie rods and not big beach surf rods). If it is getting Darker I have a glow stick about 6 inches above the mulie, and I think it works a treat.

Oterwise a metal slice like raiders or twisties. Here I do use a short segment of single strand wire (about 6inches) to avoid bite offs. Also Richter plugs in white (or green) are awesome, and fly out for miles.

Hope this helps.
