Taking apart a mercury tacho

Hey guys,
So the tacho in the boat stopped working and found a new one online with a price I couldn't refuse so I have bought it and installed it. Problem is it's a white tacho and the rest of mine are black. I still have the old broken black one so what I was wondering is does anyone know how to take these things apart? I was thinking of swaping the seal and black face into the new tacho but can't get the old one apart to look at how hard this would be. Or is this a stupid idea and me being picky and should I just leave the white one in there? I've included some photos so you can see what I mean.

i`ve never done it
but you have the old one that is no good.experiment on it and just start taking it apart and see how hard it
is before you pull the new one apart.if it`s like most things these days it wil not be made to come apart.
looks like a couple of screw holes on each side, you could start with that.

My thoughts.
Leave it alone, its calibrated and bench tested, Use it as it is, and be on the lookout for a black unit. How will you ever know it will read correctly again if you interfer with the inner workings?

Yeah I'm starting to agree
Yeah I'm starting to agree with you on that one. Think it might be best just to put up with a white one. Thanks for the input guys
