Taking boat off trailer in carport

 Hi

I am going to get the trailer for my 6m glass boat regalvanized and need to get the boat off it for a couple of weeks.

I have taken a 4.6m glass boat off before by tieing the boat to a tree on the lawn and dragging the trailer out from under it.

I think it would be a whole different ball game with a 6m boat and I want to do it in the carport.

Iwas thinking of making 3 or 4 props that would sit under the keel and put them in as I pulled the trailer out.Obiously I would make

a couple of props to go on the outside of the boat to keep it upright.

Two questions, has anybody got experience in doing this as all tips are appreciated and do you think 4 props along the hull would be

OK as far as load spread keeping in mind the hull is a signature SVDH that has a planing plank that iss 300mm wide at the back and tapers

off towards the front of the boat

This pic was added after I got ideas from here and made my own setup.

One thing, mine is a skid trailer, but even roller at that size I wouldnt drag off
Lift the whole trailer a little and prop boat then let the tyres down.

Youll need to juggle the front prop around the crossmembers but it doesnt take that long.

I've done quite few times. 3 tyres either side to hold it steady laterally at rear of transom. 3 tyres down the middle as it rolls off first 1 being at the very start of the transon.

It is really is apiece of cake to do

easily done simply drag it of on to tyres under the keel the chock the chines it will sit there for ever, bit of advise though leave the winch cable attached and let it out slowly as your doing it and keep it hooked up to car don't let trailer run free makes it harder

Mate I have a frame for the back of the boat, I have had 15ft to 24ft boats off, its dead easy, the frame is here if you want to use, makes it safe to climb all over the boat.

Thanks for the offer Ados but I got busy and made my own.

I also made a couple of stands for the middle of the boat and a couple of side supports to go towards the front of the boat.I probably dont need any more side support

as the boat has a planing plank so it should stand upright OK.

I added a pic on the origonal post as I could not add it here.
