Team Xtreme Coolers in Exxy
Hi all.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Adam and crew for organising the 2012 FW comp in Exmouth. I did the easy yards and flew up on the Saturday to join Harro, wind on Dave and Mark better known as part A of the SW contingent. These guys jumped at the idea of getting a team together and i was very happy to be part of their trip to Exxy. A few things i learnt about them.
1: They know how to have fun.
2: They play hard.
3: I was the second oldest at 41 and felt every bit a grandpa.
4: Two cartons is not enough for one day.
5: Hydrating includes drinking beer at 8am.
6: They are top blokes.
7: They can laugh at themselves and each other.
8: They know how to fish.
I am sure Adam can testify to a few of these if not all and he got off lightly if you ask me. (I did too. I think the "sponsor role" saved me to tell you the truth)
I had a great time at the wind up, met a few more FW crew. I think a stand out is the picture Simo put up as a best photo candidate. There was another that came a close second. Simo, it was a resounding winner. It was a shame the afters was a bit short lived. Except for the SW boys of course. This was one of their quiet nights. A few lasting memories for me. As it has been mentioned: 5 knots will last with me forever. Even more memorable than the birth of my own kids. Dave's coral trout and the sensational big ruby's that came aboard. We also managed the biggest Golden T's i have seen
The best thing about this trip was that going to Exxy was more about a trip than the comp itself which made it an enjoyable few days.
It was a shame not to see a few more sponsors getting involved. I would love to be part of it again in 2013 and will continue to provide Adam with some prizes. Congratulations to the four winners of the Xtreme coolers. Seeing your happy faces was brilliant.
Again, a big thanks to the SW boys for entertaining me and joining to make team Xtreme. Harro the skipper, Dave, Mark, Part B: Doak's, Liam AKA kitten arms, Tim who should be a comedian and Feral. You would not think that two of these boys are important health professionals.
Boys, keep the Canon hidden.
Till next year when who knows, we might be in KTown if anyone can get accommodation. Maybe even Dunsborough!
Cheers to all the crew who made the effort. Check out the other threads for the pics.
Regards
Dave

Maybe that back deck could
Maybe that back deck could help build some of those muscles I hear you need?
Do you reckon that just carrying your power tools will be enough exercise, or do you think perhaps you need to consider building it with hand tools, for a exercise of a little more Extreme nature?

Yep
Yep, I'm bloody glad you guys were still dusted up from the night before, it gave me an easy opportunity to fire it up a bit and still get away with a mild hangover. Think it was the no dinner and moving from dry's, to superdry, to corona's, to udl's and then f*** knows what got drunk after that.
Bloody good to meet you guys in person and even better to laugh at Kitten Arm's trying to defend his sailfish pain.
Top form from you Davo to provide the goodies for the guys, much appreciated from me and I'm sure the winners.
Hopefully I can make some decisions about next years comp in about 4-5 weeks time once I get to K-town, it will be in Exxy if anywhere as rent is just too crazy up there.

Good stuff Dave. Next year
Good stuff Dave. Next year you'll have to come for the two weeks. 3 days isn't enough to get the full Exy experience.
Was a great trip with heaps of good fish and some very funny times.
If anyone wants an esky go through Dave. He was the only site sponser to put up any prizes in the comp. A heap of eskys that everyone wanted to win. Congrats to the people that walked away with these great prizes and cheers to Dave for putting them up.
Russ "kitten arms" comes from being a soft cock when fighting a billie. "Oh my arms hurt"
All I'll say about "5 knots" is some people should look at themselves before having a go at others and dobbing like little school girls.

As the younger crew can see,
As the younger crew can see, even Grandpa can keep up with the best of them! I arrived home and have spent the last couple of weeks in rehab, AA and had a new liver transplant... But never-the-less I had a bloody good time! Yes, Xtreme Dave you have to spend the full 2 weeks to feel the full impact of the south west team! Cheers Harro for an awesome time.
