Temple Reef Stealth 78HH or Daiwa Saltiga S-Extreme 80TN

Looking at getting a popping rod to cast medium size stickbaits and poppers to GT's up to around the 20kg mark. I have a trip coming up to the Sir Edward Pellew Islands. I want to match this rod to a Daiwa Catalina 5000. The two I thought might be ok are the Temple Reef Stealth 78HH and the Daiwa Saltiga S-Extreme 80TN. Another one I looked at is the Shimano Ocea Offshore Stickbait 802. Has anyone had any experience with these rods and can give me some guidance. Would I be better off spending double the money and getting a Ripple Fisher or Carpenter? I know two separate rods for poppers and stickbaits would be ideal but only want to buy the one rod for now as I want to get a Stella 18000 later on and put a pe10 rod with it. Appreciate any suggestions.

Cheers in advance,

Clay

I was looking for a rod for the exact same application and just ended up pulling the pin on a Carpenter BC75MHS yesterday.

You could also look at a Yamaga Blue Sniper 80/5 which is the other rod I was looking at along with the 78HH, an FCL Labo UCB76 and a couple of others.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
