My neighbour caught some bloke stealing tools from a mates ute parked at the front of my house a few nights ago, The lowlife did a runner leaving all tools behind thank god. This arvo I went to charge the battery on the tinny and noticed the fuel line has been disconnected, then saw both the motor clamps on my new outboard were totally undone. Thank god I had two bolts through the transom because they stopped him from getting it off. Take care, the scumbags are always ready to knock gear off.

vibration sensor alarm
I have been looking at these and similar types of motion / vibration sensor alarms for my trailer boat.. I haven't been hit yet but better to be ready I think.

I have fitted a heavy duty
I have fitted a heavy duty padlock through the holes in the clamps joining them together (in towards each other) so they can't be undone. Also have it bolted to the transom as well.

Hello All, I'm new to this site so be kind. Love the site and looks like it has heaps of information. I bought one of these www.pitbull.com.au trailer alarms for hubby a couple of months ago after have some low life unscrewed our complete winch post and flogged the post winch everthing. The alarm will detect any movement or vibration in the trailer, even trying to unscrew bolts, seems to work well.
Any way I have plenty of posts to have a read through and look forward to learning from and hopefully contributing to this forum.

Location of thief
Hello again, thanks pelagic, but the alarm wasn;t just for hubby it was for me too as I had to put up with the peeved off hubby all the way home and the next couple of days while he sourced a new setup. It was a struggle securing the boat well enough to travel back to the camp site that night (10 Klms). The winch on the post was only 2 weeks old. Hubby secured the new winch to the post, but didnt think about the whole post. People will pinch just about anything. It actually reminds me when I closed a quilt shop I owned a couple of years back, we had an old microwave and small table we didn;t want. While we cleaned the pshop out we put these 2 items out the front with a "Free" sign on them. They were still there after 2 days, so hubby changed the sign to $10 as a experiment and next day they were gone. True story go figure!!
Gyprock, sorry to hear about your tools, our incident happend in Ballina NSW while on leave we came back from fishing just aftre sunset, and the ramp was well lit and people where around.
