dhie fishing best advice is BIG BAITS are best ,even an undersize dhuie will swallow big baits. If you catch a sargeant baker whip a whole fillet off and attach it to 2 snelled large hooks (I use 8/0 and 9/0 owner circles) and I reckon paternoster rig is the way to go. Make it as high as you can for me the bottom bait is at least a metre and half off the bottom then top hook is at least 2 metres from the bottom. The other reason to use big baits is that when it hits the bottom theres usually heaps of little reefies picking away at it before anything big gets to it. If your using small bait most of it will be gone before the big dhuie or snapper gets there and wont look as attractive
9/0 circle with a 6/0 stinger snell, 2 droppers with BIG BAITS! fresh is best, occy, squid wrass just make it big, put the rod in the holder and sit back and have a beer
Ive never caught anything on wrasse before and have tried numerous times, same as sgt baker. Have gone from using mullet and catching, mate cuts up a freshly caught baker and then nothing for a while, changed back to mullet and bang! Dhuie. Herring goes good too,Caught that dhuie in my photo on herring
Fresh, not frozen mullet is as good as you will get.
Live parrotfish, the bigger the better and sargeant major cut in 2 or 3 chunks.
Big hooks, 9/0 being the smallest
just dhu it
