Tichella info ??

Hi Guys
Looking for some info on Tichella which is between Pardoo and the De Grey river in the Pilbara. Has any one been there and was it any good. Looking at camping there with the fam and having a bit of a fish. Had a look on google, not a lot there but that could have its advantages.
Cheers

Condon/tichella
hey mullows
the joint gets a fair hammering - used to be great for muddies and can still get a feed if ya put the effort in. not alot of water left in the creeks at the low but some good salmon and in season the odd barra get taken - unfort it also gets attention from the netters! the track in used to be rough as guts! camping there was similar to any other pilbara creek lots of midgies/mosquitos but not too bad if u enjoy that kind of stuff. the big tamaris tree is a favourite spot for many
out the front theres a few nice small rocky islands that there are some good fish around at times - tuskies jacks ect ect but also some thumping great tigers and hammerheads come thru there.
be careful if u go on big tides too mate - being such a flat shallow system the tides absolutely races in there... good time to be chasing the big bluenose tho!
hope that helps

Just what I was after mate, probably a good trip for the boys but the mrs would crack the shits if the midgies made their presence felt....they love her.

I took my 2 kids for a camping trip to Pardoo last weekend. Stayed at the caravan park.
Easy camping on the grass and they have cabins and backpacker accomadation as well. All the usual comforts.
Creeks have be absolutely hammered by the Grey Nomads. Caravan park locals told stories of Nomads freezing up to 50 crabs to take with them on the rest of their trip. Apparently its not even worth the effort chasing them anymore as stocks have totally collapsed.
Main Pardoo creek is only a couple of k's drive down the track. The other creeks are along a turn off to your right. Need to fish the high tides if land based as there is no water on the lows.

Cheers Fellas, much appreciated. The roads and town are full of the nomads round here atm, so was looking for somewhere to get away from them. At least when its stinking hot and the barra are on, they have all left

I would skip Pardoo
as the guys are correct - a mix of nomads and some regular cyclone hits decimated the muddies and any salmon over 6 inches long and parasite free is in Alf & Merles freezer on their way home to Victoria.
Tichelar / Condon would be worth the drive in - there is a good deep creek you can fish for the last 5-700 metres before you hit the beach and the beach fishing if you go south towards Condon is usually ok. The turn in is about 10k's south of the Pardoo entry and heads straight in at 90 degrees to the highway - they can give you an exact distance at Pardoo - you can also access Pardoo Creek off this track if the gate is not locked and there haven't been any big rains.

At the moment there is a big yellow area painted on the road about 50
metres before the turn off. It's also pretty much directly opposite the old goldsworthy turn off. If you get to the boat fibreglass boat wreck you've gone a couple of kms too far

If I play my cards right
If I play my cards right Neels fishing this weekend will be on the agenda. Hence the camping trip with Tara and the kids to gain a few brownie points lol.
Might aim for the Tichella, Mt Blaze areas on the FeNaCl long (fellas) weekend at the end of the month.
