I was there!
Haha intersting mornings thats for sure ...Me and brenz go down ballooning and end up hooking a tiger shark that i had to cut the hooks out off and try not to lose my hand..I can assure any doubters the shark was well over 1.5m and 25-30kg i estimated it at 2-2.3m and approaching 80-100kg easily big enough to take your arm off either way!Pics didnt do it justice....

no worries
Fair enough, hard to doubt it from someone who was there, certainly doesn't look 100kg in the photos. All good.

I'm with you Adam. Photo certainly don't do it justice. I would call 30-35kg all day.
Either way it's a great capture from the beach.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Good catch - impressed to see it come in during daylight hours
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Good onya for letting it go.
Good onya for letting it go. Nice catch.
I had the unfortunate pleasure of watching a guy catch on on Wed just before Aussie day of Mindarie. He put up a great fight and pronounced he was going to land and keep it. No issue with that.
Anyway dropped down his flying gaff that didn't reach the water. So he asked another guy to go down and get it with a standard gaff. The bloke starts stabbing it in the head as it was washed in with waves onto rocks. The angler than says he doesn't even want it and if the other guy wants it keep it. The other bloke had no interest either so with it 100% exhausted and now with a couple of big holes in its head spewing out blood it did swim of.
It was maybe a 1.4 mtr i would have thought maybe 20 kilos. great looking fish.
I have no issue with keeping fish but no need to kill it just for the fun..
The media are hopeless. I was in the water at Trigg when the shark alarm went of, after about 30 minutes of the helicopter hoovering. A mate who was a life saver said it was only about 2 mtrs but because of teh 300 plus swimmers in a corporate event they had to take precaution's. Well the press labeled it three meter straight away. very annoying..
Haha it would have been funny to watch the faces of the swimmers at it was left to swimm off.. Priceless.

If your referring to my post
If your referring to my post well too bad but killing for the sake of killing is not good enough.
If your mate was the horse then after he found out his flying gaff was 2 foot clear of reaching the water (in a straight line) Then he should have just cut it off. He then asked the other guy to help who did in fact land it all be it with a few big holes in its head. First guy then changed his mind and said he didn't want to keep it and offered it to the other guy.
My point is if you catch a great fish and don't intend to kill it let it go with some chance at least. The blood that was spewing from this shark it really would have had little chance if any. I simply cut of the line and your done. Or to be far the line had even come out of its mouth as it was washing back and forth on the rocks.
My point was great job in the above capture by Brendo on a great landing and release as per what he had planned.
Another Tiger just caught as well, warmer water is bringing them down..
